Spyderco’s first fixed blade was designed by none other than the late Mr. William Moran, Master at the Forge and founder of the American Bladesmith’s Society. It was released in the 1990s and hasn’t undergone any changes since then, remaining true to Moran’s original design. The Moran/Spyderco collaboration is the ultimate outdoor camp/survival style knife. New for 2009 Spyderco offers the knife with an easy-to-see safety orange handle.

Spyderco engineers opted to use VG-10 stainless steel for the blade. Due to its extremely high carbon content and tight grain structure, VG-10 takes and holds a superior edge. The Moran-style skinning blade is 3-7’8” (99mm) with a satin finish. We’ve ground it fully-flat for high performance cutting.

The knife justly earns the name Featherweight by incorporating an ergonomic lighter than air, handle of safety orange FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) with black non-slip Kraton® side grips.

It carries in Boltaron® sheath equipped with a G-Clip clip system that attaches to a belt or waistband in a cross-draw, horizontal, inverted, vertical or small of back position.
