I recently acquired one of these knives and it is very nice. However, last night I made the first mod by adding rubber o-rings to the grip to fill in the grooves. Best upgrade ever. The black o-rings provide a nice contrast with the tan, complement the sheath hardware and webbing blade, pommel and enhance the grip feel. #15 o-rings: 1" OD, 0.75" ID and 1/8" diameter.

It takes a bit of effort to stretch them over the pommel and to work them down the grip until each drops neatly in to the groove.
